The Calgary Orienteering Camp takes place on Oct 9th – 11th.
There will be seven events – some trainings, some races in Canmore, Bow Valley Prov Park, and Calgary
You can pick and choose which days to attend, or go for the full Extravaganza Experience…

2pm – Canmore Town sprint training. Super fun sprint course to get warmed up. Start - See the 1st map below. Possible parking is in front of Safeway

4pm – Quarry Lake middle race. Good technical challenge and super forest. SI Timing. Start - See the 2nd map below

7pm – dinner & presentation by Ida & Soren Bobach at Canmore Nordic Center
Saturday:

10am – Bow Valley Provincial Park training. Start - See the 3rd map below

11am – 50 Controls course. SI timing.

Special Guests
•We are delighted that two young Danish runners - Ida & Soren Bobach - will be running at the camp. They’re pretty good orienteers:
◦Soren – 2015 World Champion (Sprint Relay), 2014 World Champion (Sprint), five JWOC medals.
◦Ida – 2015 World Champion (Long AND Relay), twelve (!!!!) JWOC medals (2009 – 2011) including SEVEN gold!!
•This is an incredible opportunity to rub elbows with two of the world’s very best orienteers and learn how they train and race.
•We hope that lots of juniors will take the opportunity to meet Ida & Soren and be inspired by what these two young athletes have achieved
SAFETY:
Bear sprays are STRONGLY recommended.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
ACCOMMODATION

Very reasonably priced accommodation is offered by Alpine Club of Canada's Club house. Book early as these spots will disappear fast.

DINNERS
Both Friday and Saturday night dinners will be catered, with a presentation by Ida Bodach, Søren Bobach.
This is an opportunity to meet new and old friends, discuss courses from the day, and socialize with some of the best orienteers in the world. Tickets must be purchased in advance via Zone 4.
